[Toph senses him entering the kitchen, and stops her conversation with Zuko about tea or something. Who knows.

Since the Potaang was not from her, she has no idea what Allen's hauling along with him. Regardless, she never says no to being cooked for.]

No problem, Spud. I figured you'd want some you might not accidentally chew through. And yeah!

[ zuko is, indeed, having tea. mostly because he can make it and toph probably badgered him into making it for her. and zuko is about to take a sip of said tea when he notices potaang being dragged along and said offer of breakfast and he promptly chokes.

and coughs.

give him a second he'll be fine. ]

Haha- yeah! They seem really sturdy! They'll get a lot of use!

[And at that point, he hears Zuko's coughing. Which he'll totally assume it was to draw attention and not anything about potaang who has a couple potatoes now coming out of it's bag head. ]

Oh, morning Zuko! Would you like some breakfast too?

[The coughing and choking from Zuko earns him a hard smack on his back from Toph in an attempt to get him to stop. Or die. Whichever.

She stands there, waiting for him to recover, ready to smack him again if she feels it's required.]

Zuko, what the heck?

[honorbends]

{ that just sends him forward against the table, and he coughs once more before waving toph off with a hiss -- ]

I'm fine, stop -- I just -- inhaled wrong.

[ a fucking firebrender that can't even breathe correctly HAIL FIRELORD ZUKO ]

And I'm not hungr -- you're eating those?

[ HE CAN'T HELP IT. ]

[Allen gets an expression of confusion]

Well...yeah? What else would I do with potatoes?

[Now Toph takes a turn looking confused.]

We have potatoes?

[ ... god. ]

I'm not hungry, do what you want with them.

Uh, yeah- the bag of potatoes you got with my present, Toph? I figured it was a joke...

[He is so confused by Zuko]

Are you sure, Zuko? If you don't like potatoes, I'm cooking eggs too...

[She 'looks' at Zuko now.]

And you are lying about something. Spill it.

[ it's said in instant defense, and zuko glares at toph to punctuate said statement. -- but then he realizes something, and he immediately looks offended. ]

-- stop using your earthbending on me.

[ ... which completely nullifies his earlier statement but SOME THINGS ARE MORE IMPORTANT. ]

It's Allen, and what do you mean you didn't get me potatoes? This sack was right next to the silverware.

Zuko, her earthbending is how she sees. Don't tell her not to use it.

There was nothing else there when I dropped it off! I have no idea how it got there.

[She rolls her eyes dramatically.]

You're only objecting because you know I'm right. Plus, I can't exactly turn it off when you're this close.

[ zuko stares at her, and then stares at allen.

and then promptly gets up off of his chair, moves it away from toph, and sits back down.

[Seriously!! But he'll look back at Toph]

But hang on- if you didn't give me a sack of potatoes, who did?

[Toph snorts at Zuko's choice of response before waiting for him to resettle. Then she simply makes a come hither motion with her hand, and the chair slides back over to them with a scraping noise across the floor. Once he's back with the pair, she addresses Allen.]

No idea. Is there anything weird about them?

Maybe they're --

[ and then zuko is dragged back to toph, and he stops talking, gritting his teeth, before continuing as if nothing has happened. ]

[He looks at Zuko]

What? Why would someone send me a bag of poisoned potatoes?
