Wait, you're aware of it already?
voice;
...Yes. I am.
voice;
Is that normal where you're from?
voice;
No, it's definitely not normal.
voice;
Are you okay?
voice;
I'm fine, Mikleo.
It's...It's a long story. But I found a way to contain it, so I'll be fine.
Honestly, I thought that shadow wouldn't be around anymore. I guess not. [Even sealing Nea's consciousness couldn't erase the fact he was a Noah, he supposes]
voice;
voice;
...I see. Well, I suppose it is a "Memory" of sorts.
[Or you could take advantage of the play on words there to evade the truth even longer. At least it's not TECHNICALLY a lie!!]
voice;
...If you'd prefer not to go into detail about it, then I'll refrain from prying. I just thought I ought to explain.
voice;
[He lets out a sigh. Yeah. There is a part of him that rather not talk about it, but he knows that's reckless. Sure he had Robin's seal- but if that failed somehow? If something like an augment glitch went out of control? The Shepherd probably would be the best chance of stopping the Noah from hurting anyone.]
[And making sure people stayed safe was far more important to him than his personal comfort]
No, it's probably best you know actually. In case something goes wrong.
voice;
Very well. What is it?
voice;
The thing about Noahs though is that there's only 14 of them in the world, and they use humans as hosts. When one passes away, they can implant their memories into another host and they'll eventually take over that host, eroding the original person in the process.
That shadow, it's a sign that you're a host.
voice;
w e l p]
Is this... what you referred to before, when you said you were incurably ill?
[He hadn't gotten any details then, nor had he really asked, but this sounds like the equivalent of a mortal sickness of sorts.
To be infected by a being similar to a hellion like that, though... as if malevolence itself could be a sentient enemy... that's terrifying. He knows they don't compare exactly, since there are differences between their worlds, but still.]
voice;
My augment had been stopping its progression. But I don't trust Atroma not to exploit it or the augments to glitch, so I kept looking for a more permanent solution. Eventually I found someone who could seal it magically, so I'm not dependent on the augment to keep me myself.
voice;
[Happy enough that he forgot who he'd already told, apparently. It's hard to blame him.]
By something going wrong- it could be dangerous if it wasn't sealed, then?
voice;
voice;
What's unusual about him? And what are the "right circumstances"?
[If his being told is meant to be some sort of countermeasure, the more he knows, the better.]
voice;
Well, most of the Noah are allied with the most powerful Noah, the Millennium Earl. He's the one that creates the Akuma and is waging war against humanity in my world. The Noah help him in causing death and destruction.
But for some reason in his last life, Nea betrayed the Earl and tried to kill him. The Earl killed him, but now he's trying to come back to try again. Unfortunately, he seems fine killing anyone who gets in his way and doesn't shy away from destruction.
voice;
I... think I get it.
[More or less.]
If he's sealed, and this Earl isn't around, is it unlikely that Nea would be dangerous to anyone else, then?
voice;
[Thus why he's telling him all this.]
voice;
You're thinking that the Shepherd's power might be an effective counter for a Noah. Because of the similarities between what we do?
[The Noah are powered by something like malevolence, and the Akuma that Allen and his exorcists fight are similar to hellions, then the power of purification might be the best bet to stop it.]
voice;
I wouldn't ask, but there aren't other Exorcists here.
voice;
[Even if the chance of that is low, back-up plans are important. Especially if this Noah is as dangerous as it sounds. This isn't a pleasant conversation by any means, and he hates that he's all but agreeing to fight a friend if the need arises, but he also knows that he can handle this information much more easily than Sorey.]
I wonder... if a Noah can be purified.
voice;
[The answer comes nearly instantly.]
It's been tried, unfortunately. Mostly, it just makes things worse.
voice;
Allen. The power of purification is not made for killing. Sorey's never used it to take a life before.
[What he's asking, if that's the implication, is huge.]
