I know that. You really ought to think about getting one though. There's good candidates in your crew, and it might mean you'd fall asleep at your desk less.

[SINCE HE KNOWS YOU DO THAT. The blush is still prominent in his face as their noses brush together. Dangit Clay you flatterer.]

Ah...are you trying to get back at me for all the times I flatter you? [You know when he KNOWS you get all embarrassed and flustered]

[Well. The comment about the desk certainly makes him flustered, and he gives an embarrassed little "I know, I know" before deciding to focus on the last part instead.]

Mm, maybe. Or maybe I'm just being honest. [Since, you know, that is his thing. Being genuine and honest, because why should he hide anything about himself, especially with his boyfriend?] Either way, it's true.

[He gives a little huff, definitely blushing. He can't refute it, but still-!]

Well you're making it really hard to be all mad like I was.

[HOW DARE YOU BE CALMING AND SUPPORT!!!]

[He laughs a bit, the sound quiet and fond, and he shifts a bit closer, just to feel more of Allen against him.]

Wow, now I feel terrible. Should I get you mad again? Still want to scream?

[He just lets out a sigh as he moves closer to rest against Clay. No, he doesn't feel real compelled to scream or get mad again- not when there's someone loving and supportive right here. So he's just quiet for a moment.]

...I don't suppose you brought snacks.

[And while Allen rests against him, Clay loops his arms around his waist and traces gentle, lazy circles against the middle of his back. When he speaks up, though, Clay gives a little snort, because of course.]

Back on the shuttle, yeah. It's not much, but I figured we'd be hungry after all this.

[Since he was expecting them to scream a lot, just to let out their (Allen's) frustration. That ended up not happening, but... honestly, that's for the better. And he's incredibly happy that he can have such a calming influence on his boyfriend like this.]

[Okay that makes him cheer up a little more as he continues to lean against him. Since hey, it's food.]

Ah...you really are the perfect man.

Ha, perfect to you, maybe.

[He can't help grinning from that, though. Really, if he wasn't dating someone that had a black hole for a stomach, then he wouldn't have thought to bring food along. But that's what happens when you're in a serious, committed relationship; you adapt a little to what they love.

But even with the promise of food, Allen's not moving, so Clay will just shut his eyes and keep holding him while stroking his back, until he's ready to go again.]

[Really just the promise of food is enough to sate him for this precise moment.]

Nuh-uh, just perfect. What kind of person wouldn't think making sure to bring snacks was a sign of perfection?

[Besides people on diets, or don't eat at all....]

Mm, I dunno. I got a couple of people on my ship who wouldn't think it's a sign of perfection.

[Them being unable to eat and all. But he ends up burying his face in Allen's shoulder a bit - definitely getting flustered over here]

Pearl's got some strange opinions about eating. I think you can take what she says on the matter with a grain of salt.

[Because seriously, it's one thing not to eat, it's another to diss it so much GOSH]

[Clay laughs at that, because out of all the things Allen could take away from his impression of Pearl, Clay had a feeling that one would stick out the most.]

Oh, I've heard her opinions about eating. I guess it makes sense, though; rocks aren't meant to eat.

I guess so. But it's still a disturbing opinion.
