Rule #1 of arguing with Katara is don't.

She started it! I can't not fight her if she started it!

Katara always starts it. She's self-righteous and usually convinced she's right. That's just how she is.

It's easier to just avoid the argument and talk to her later, because yelling at her will just make her angry, and she can bend blood.

[ JUST SAYING ALLEN IT'S SCARY SHIT ]

I'm really not good with that, threat of bloodbending or not. [His dad tried to temper his fight reflex for years to keep him out of trouble. It never took. It was his second greatest failing as a father.]

How's your current strategy working out for you?

There hasn't been any bloodbending!

I doubt she'd do that over this anyway. [Even if he's pissed at Katara, he trusts her enough not to do that yet]

She has a lot more control over her bending now than she used to.

The point is that arguing with Katara like this gets you absolutely nowhere. She has her pride. So do you. Get over it.

She feels guilty enough.

[There's a pause. A longer pause than could be explained away by typing]

Did she actually say she was feeling guilty? Or is that your guess?

[ Zuko means well. Allen knows Zuko means well. But as he stares at the response, he can't help but notice that it wasn't a "Yes, she said she felt guilty". Just an implication that he knew her well enough to know she does. ]

[ And even he knows Zuko means well...Allen was human. And he couldn't help but feel a tug of resentment towards that sentiment. Zuko hadn't asked Allen about his side or anything about his feelings. Just told him to swallow his pride and not fight Katara no matter what. It made sense of course, that Zuko would immediately side with Katara. That group basically family to each other, after all. No amount of worlds or perils would ever truly rip them apart.]

[There's another pause before he responds]

Zuko...I appreciate what you're doing for your friend, but I think I want to be mad for a little bit longer before I swallow my pride and apologise. Alright?
