PERSONALITY
"I'm only human...My heart goes out to what's in front of me instead of the big picture."

Polite, kind and friendly are usually the attributes that Allen appears like when you first meet him. He seems like a nice boy. Always willing to help a person in need, it doesn't matter if they are friends or a stranger. If he makes a promise to you, he'll go through great lengths to make sure he follows it - even if you are a stranger. To the core he is kind and selfless. He couldn't even bring himself to leave the man who "killed" him to die.

However Allen's personality is far from that simple. While he is a good kid, he has a lot of shortcomings. His manners and behaviors towards people is hinted to be fake, he is simply wearing a mask of his father's behavior and mannerisms. He has a temper, one that can be rather violent at times, and on top of that he is not the most easy-going person in the world. Years of being alone has made it a bit difficult for him to work in teams and share the load easily causing him to try to do everything himself, but he is slowly learning. There is a streak of delinquency in him as well, he cheats at cards without issue and will often disobey orders on the field easily. Most of his actions are based on knee-jerk emotional reactions. Inability to control his emotions could be one of his greatest faults.

His birth parents abandoning him and the death of his adopted father has also left him extremely emotional when it comes to the issues of parents, five years after his father's death he still considers Mana to be his most important person without question. It also makes it hard for him to have close connections with people, most people he seems to have a tendency to hold at arm's length without realizing it. Rarely will he talk about his own problems, besides the occasional emotional outburst. So overall, expect a kid that will do anything to help save you - but rarely allow you to help save him in return.

BACKGROUND

For a boy with a such a cheery and kind disposition, the kid has had a very hard life. Abandoned by his parents, his first memories are being sold off to a circus (presumably an illegal human trafficking incident) to work. At the time he had no name besides the nickname "Red Arm" or "Red" that everyone called him. His years at the circus were full of severe abuse and neglect. Yes, he was beaten by clowns.

Red's life begin to change when he was around the age of six or seven. It was during this time he befriended a dog named Allen, the first friend he ever had. Unfortunately this friendship was short-lived when one of the clowns beat the dog to death. This incident caused Red to talk to the owner of the dog, Mana, who turned out to be kind to Red...just a bit insane from his own traumatic life. He kept hanging around Mana and stuff happened that made Mana even more nuts to the point that on Christmas he mistook Red for his dog Allen. Red, feeling a bit to blame for Mana's mental health getting worse, decided to go with it and travel with the guy in hopes that he can help the guy get back to sanity and remembering the brother he forgot. Along with this, he took on the name Allen.

For the next three or so years, Allen traveled with Mana and helped him with his work as well mental health things. Not a whole lot is known about these years, but it can be assumed that Mana eventually realized that Allen was a child and not a dog. He watched after Allen and taught the kid a lot of things such as reading and writing (both English and a special code that comes up later). Allen grew to love the guy as his parent, and it can probably be assumed that with any mentally ill person, there were good days and bad days.

But this came to an end at ten years old, when Mana passed away. Devastated as losing the one person who accepted and loved him, on Christmas Eve, Allen unknowingly made a deal with the Millennium Earl to bring him back to life as an Akuma (a type of weapon). In response, Mana cursed his adopted son so he would see the souls trapped within Akuma - and Allen's defective arm activated into an anti-akuma weapon that destroyed Mana out of instinct. After this Allen's brown hair turned to white from the traumatic experience.

After the event, Cross who had been watching Allen from afar ever since he was found by Mana, stepped in. He took Allen to Keswick where they stayed with a woman by the name of Mother for an extended period of time. However due to Mana's death and the events afterward, Allen was deeply troubled. The pain of his face being cut lasted for a month, making him scream so much that he lost his voice. Not only that, but he was virtually catatonic for a long period of time- never talking, eating, sleeping or moving from his spot on the bed. Eventually with the help of Cross, he did stir out of this state but with one troubling long term mark: his original accent and crude way of speaking were gone. Instead, he mimicked exactly how Mana spoke.

Over the next few months, Allen continued to improve his mental and physical state until he was finally able to use his long-paralyzed left hand. When it was time to leave Keswick, he was given the surname of Walker by Cross (originally he felt it'd be presumptuous to take Mana's name when he wasn't related to him) under the claim it suited him perfectly. Cross took Allen on as his apprentice and for the next four (traumatic for Allen) years, trained him to be an Exorcist. They parted ways (aka, Cross knocked him out and split) in India and Allen headed to the Black Order headquarters where he became the current youngest full fledged Exorcist. Several missions occurred after that, as well as several hard battles. Recently the Headquarters got attacked, and Allen discovered he is the Musician that can control the Noah's Ark. He feels as though there is something in his head, as well as he sees a silhouette in reflective surfaces no one else can see. For awhile he was left in the dark about what was happening to him, but eventually he learned that he was the host to the 14th Noah's memories, doomed to be slowly eroded away, change into the 14th and possibly kill someone he loves.

Allen however, rejects this fate for himself and refuses to give up to the Noah and instead wants to live his own life. Though currently it seems to be nothing more than a losing battle for him. A recent injury from an out of control comrade caused the 14th to awaken. Not only that, but since time went on Allen began to see more of the darker side of the Order that he had devoted his life to. Finally, after learning in great depth about the experiments they would perform in resurrecting fallen Exorcists, Allen betrayed the Order in order to help free two of the subjects of those experiments. Between that and his injury, his fate is left unknown yet rather grim to him when Allen awoke in Paradisa.

"There is something about us Exorcists you don't understand...You think Exorcists are mere humans and by destroying their Anti-Akuma weapon which is Innocence...they will become powerless since they are mere humans. But the opponents that you should really be afraid of are those humans."

In other words:

THERE BE GODMODS IN THESE WATERS!!!
No. Seriously. They aren't fucking around when they say he's chosen by God.

Okay more seriously now.

Allen Walker is a fighter. He lives to be an Exorcist, to him that's his very existence. He trains constantly and says that he feels the most alive when he's in a battle against an Akuma. This attitude towards his fighting shows, he's the youngest person to achieve over 100% synchronization with his Innocence and fighting him if you manage to last past the first blow is much like getting smacked around by a truck. He has extremely good reflexes, can go very fast in short bursts, he's extremely strong in terms of strength (he throws several ton pillars like frisbees dude), his weapon is near unstoppable unless you have it's kryptonite and it's extremely challenging to keep him down for very long. He also has a range of abilities and skills that almost seem to exist simply to make the lives of anyone fighting him difficult. It's like the British love child of Wolverine, Spiderman and Batman dude. And that's without him needing to tap into his darker side.

However there are a lot of drawbacks to his style of fighting. He's still rather young and he's still learning all sorts of technique in battle that could cause for a sneakier win. His emotions may also cause him to lose rationale in battle and do the impulsive stuff that gets him in trouble. Not only that, but his abilities take a LOT of energy. The reason he hits so hard? Is because he's hoping to finish the battle before he runs out of steam. He's gotten better about this during his time in Paradisa as he's learned skills that don't require use of his Innocence or less so- but it's still frequently the case. So while he's a definite godmod, he's not a completely unbeatable one.

Abilities List

☼ Human Related Abilities

Superior Strength:

  • He can smash clipboards punching with his normal arm, carry two people while wounded himself and do one handed hand-stand push ups with ease. Even without his Innocence, he's got a good amount of strength on him.

Superior Pain Tolerance:

  • He got stabbed through in the stomach and he still managed to help save the day, okay? His entire canon is him getting injured in horrible ways but still fighting. I'm honestly wondering if all the nerve endings in his body are simply dead from so many injuries. Pretty much it takes a lot more than a few hits to keep him down.

Extensive Physical Capabilities:

  • He is extremely acrobatic from growing up in the circus, good at fighting hand to hand and can last up to ten hours in battle when he's not using powers. He's not the best in the world when it comes to this stuff, but he can definitely hold his own.
  • Also ambidextrous, and he's quick and skillful enough with his hands that he is a complete pro at cheating with cards.
  • He can see incredibly well in the dark due to spending a ton of time in the dark during training. It's not to inhuman levels, but he's shown perfectly capable of identifying a person across a dark room when other people can barely make them out.

Weapon Proficiences: PARADISA INFLUENCED

  • Mastered: None really except possibly claw based weapons
  • Skillful: Hand to Hand, Claw Based Weapons, Two-Handed Swords (Except he uses them one handed)
  • Decent: Crossbow, One Handed Swords
  • Amateur: Throwing Knives, Guns
Claymore: PARADISA INFLUENCED
  • Teresa from Claymore left Allen her sword when she left the castle. It looks like this and is made of material that can cut through rock, impervious to rust and currently it's unknown if it can be broken. And yes, it's heavy.

Medical Knowledge: PARADISA INFLUENCED

  • He's shown to be capable of bandaging injuries in canon, as well as he's been learning things here while in Paradisa. He can clean and bandage injuries, give stitches and possibly make splints for broken bones. He's also been studying medicine for the past several months, so at this point he's got the medical proficiency of a medical student.

Driving Knowledge: PARADISA INFLUENCED

  • He owns a car with Chie and Jr. and Crowley taught him how to drive. He's still a rather amateur driver and probably makes a lot of mistakes, but hey he knows how to do it.

☼ Curse/Magic/Misc. Related Abilities

Soul Sensing:
  • He can identify Akuma or anything that uses the souls of the dead to power itself by seeing the soul. He can also hear anything the soul might have to say. This can work up to 300 yards and through solid objects. If a person is next to him, he can make them see what he sees...just be careful because it's not a pretty sight at all. When one character saw it, he lost his appetite for a good day. This also can be overwheming for Allen if there's a lot of souls or the souls are extremely multilated. He can turn this off, but it can easily be triggered again by promixity or sheer power. Can be blocked by magic too if a person has a good strength barrier spell.

Dark Energy Sensing:

  • Can sense dark/demonic energy that comes from a person, however it's capable of being concealed from him (like if a person doesn't have their demon powers activated or whatever, it may be hard for him to sense anything and it can be blocked by magic too). Weak energy will just give a small haze while godhaxx energy will make the person look...like a black cloud of darkness. He can turn it off, but if there's a strong surge of energy nearby it'll activate on it's own.

Limited Regeneration:

  • If you injure his left eye, it will grow back or repair the damages on it's own in a few days. In addition, if you injure his left arm he is capable of healing it. The rest of his body is shit out of luck though.

Limited Psychic Abilities: COMPLETELY OBLIVIOUS...NO I'M SERIOUS, HE'S OBLIVIOUS THAT HE'S PSYCHIC.

  • Name-Related: If someone calls his name, he will hear it no matter how far away he is from it (he managed to hear Lenalee calling for him from hundred of miles away). This is possibly the reason why calling his name snaps him out of losing control to the Noah. If someone is talking about him or mentions his name without necessarily calling for him - he'll sneeze. But he doesn't realize that's what's making him sneeze so he probably just thinks some part of the castle are REALLY DUSTY. 8D;;;
  • Dreams: Multiple times in canon he's been shown capable of witnessing dreams through his own that belong to other people or about events going on that he would have no ability to know about. Other times he has cryptic meaningful dreams that involve the 14th and/or his Innocence. His dreams might even be a bit prophetic in nature! Unfortunately...he has a bad habit of forgetting his dreams about a minute or two after he wakes up, so it never occurs to him that there's something abnormal about his dreams.

Limited Magic Use and Knowledge:

  • Canon has shown him casting a single spell that's been used by other characters in order to destroy something, not to mention he spent several years living with a sorcerer. So it's fair to say that he has a small amount of knowledge about magic he's picked up, as well as the capability of using it. HOWEVER he is not at all a trained magic user and almost never uses even if he DOES know more magic. IT TOOK 199 CHAPTERS FOR HIM TO BOTHER TO USE ONE SPELL DUDE.

☼ Exorcist Related Abilities

Superhuman Strength:
  • While his Innocence is unactivated, it's strong enough to easily crush a metal weapon. When his Innocence is activated, his strength reaches far beyond human capabilities. He can throw several ton pillars like frisbees if that gives you an idea how strong he is. 8D;;;

Superhuman Speed and Reflexes:

  • His innocence arm, whether it's activated or not, is fast enough to catch bullets. He's been shown a few times to be able to move fast enough to dodge or deflect bullets (at one point he even managed to untie himself and move across a room to cover someone from an attack in about a couple seconds), it will even move on it's own to save his life. Though it seems to only work in short bursts at best since his running speed is one of an average physically fit teenage boy and he's considered to be overall slower than Lenalee and Kanda.

Limited Toxin Resistance and Healing:

  • When it comes to drugs and toxins, it takes about twice the average amount for Allen to feel the full effects. In addition, his Innocence will purify his body of any deadly toxins he might be infected by within seconds of infection. Non-fatal toxins do not get purified by his Innocence.

Holy Attribution:

  • Innocence is holy based. So if you're a person who gets hurt from holy items, touching his arm while it's uncovered will burn. His attacks on dark-based fighters are super effective!

Mind Game Escape-Artist:

  • If you get him caught in a mind game/flashback field trip/special world/etc that's dark based, if he decides to leave he can...literally punch his way out by channeling his power. No, I'm not kidding.

Claw: Requires 83% Activation

  • When he activates his weapon at 83%, Allen's left hand takes the form of having long talons for each digit. These claws are insanely sharp, being able to slice through anything unless it's CANONLY OR CASTLE INDUCED UNBREAKABLE. Just to give you an idea how strong they are, he's been shown literally capable of taking out a Level 3 Akuma (the second strongest Akuma shown in canon) with a finger, while bullets and explosives cannot even pierce the armor of a Level 1 Akuma. Damaging the claw requires a very strong dark powered attack, Innocence of equal strength level or a godmod weapon. If the claw does get damaged, he is capable of healing it on his own (unlike other Exorcists who have to find someone who can repair innocence).

Long Range Attacks: Requires 83% Activation

  • Crown Edge: Is a swiping attack from his claw that shoots off a few dozen clown shaped projectiles that explode on impact.
  • Cross Grave: An attack that causes many targets to be have a cross appear on them and then a holy fire pillar explosion occurs. It's capable of taking out large amount of weaker enemies, but it's draining on the user.

Clown Belt: Requires 83% Activation

  • THINK SPIDERMAN WITH HIS WEBBING. YEAH, YOU GET THE IDEA. It's webbing and ribbons that let him go high in th air, cling to walls, grab onto objects, grab onto enemies, go place to place. Literally it's probably less sticky, but think Spiderman and you'll get this power. It's extremely hard to cut off, it would take the same sort of attack that it takes to damage the claw.

Shield: Requires 83% Activation

  • It's called Cross Grave too because the translators just love to make things confusing or just love that name, but it's essentially a shield that will block a single attack before disappearing. It looks like a cross surrounded by an oval. If you know Kingdom Hearts? Think of the Reflect spell. Only uses it once or twice in the manga so far, but he'll probably use it for any oncoming long range attack he doesn't think he can dodge.

Cape: Requires 83% Activation

  • To think he's the only Exorcist who bothers to have armor. When it's activated, it's a long white cape that covers most of his body along with a hood and a mask that he can put on to cover part of his face. It's made of Innocence, so penetrating it directly is not the best move, but there's openings and such around it. He can also release harden spikes from the cape that have a good sized reach and will impale enemies, so watch out for that. When he starts to fatigue in battles, the cape might be the first to go since it's extra energy being used.

ALL ATTACKS AND SKILLS THAT REQUIRE 100% ACTIVATION HAS BEEN BLOCKED BY PARADISA DUE TO HIS LOSS. THEREFORE, I WON'T BOTHER TO LIST THEM. BUT NO SWORD, NO DEATH BALL AND NO OTHER DEUS EX MACHINA SKILLS THAT THIS MANGA COMES UP WITH FOR ALLEN.

☼ Noah Related Abilities

Gate Making: BLOCKED BY PARADISA

  • Using the Ark, Allen can create gates to any place in the world that he has visited before by thinking of a certain song in his head and the place. Which since he travels all the time, that's a lot of places. However since the Ark is not in Paradisa, he is incapable of doing this.

Superhuman Pain Tolerance:

  • Prior to awakening as a Noah, Allen had a good amount of pain tolerance but still could be incapitated. However considering when he gets awoken he managed to function just fine shortly after having a sword STAB HIM THROUGH? It's clearly gone up in pain tolerance levels.

☼ Weaknesses

Energy and Stamina:

  • Allen needs a lot of energy to sustain the power of the Innocence, and that energy comes in the form of needing a lot of food. The more he uses his Innocence, the more food he requires to eat. If he goes more than a day without eating, he'll become unable to activate his Innocence. It'd probably take him four to five days to starve to death. Recent canon had him last alright with just water for several days, then again he was mostly sleeping during the time, but he could still use innocence...SO I DON'T EVEN KNOW. /THROWS HANDS IN THE AIR
  • Due to the strain on the body a parasitic Innocence has, they have shortened lifespans compared to other people. It's unknown how much shorter Allen's lifespan is.
  • Allen is an extremely powerful fighter, but probably one of his main fighting flaws is the fact that he is not made to be a long lasting fighter when he uses Innocence since it's such a strain on his body. He'll tire out within a couple hours when continuously using his Innocence (and it depends what sort of attacks he uses with it), and by tire out I mean he will start coughing up blood and his innocence will deactivate on it's own if he's not careful. However when he's not fighting with Innocence, he's shown being able to last up to ten hours in a fight...so yeah.

Alcohol Aversion:

  • The scent and taste of alcohol makes him sick and faint. No, I'm serious. This boy can never be in a bar fight, since he'd lose the moment the first beer spilled near him.

Emotions:

  • Truly a double edged sword for Allen! Emotions often give him the strength and determination to keep fighting and keep going even when everything seems hopeless....but on the other hand he's a teenager. Which means he has yet to gain full control over his emotions and they can often leave him to make very reckless and impulsive decisions in battle. For example, one would be not keeping a safe distance from a berserker Kanda, which caused him to be impaled by his sword. Ouch.

Medication:

  • It takes large doses, but anything that dulls his nervous system (like an analgesic) will make him incapable of activating or using his Inncoence very properly. So if he's in a fight where both is Innocence and his normal body gets injured? Afterward it will take him longer to heal his Innocence due to the fact that he can't heal it while he's drugged up on painkillers.

Magic:

  • A good strength barrier spell can block Allen's eye from seeing anything, and there are stronger seals that can temporarily make him incapable of using his Innocence. However since his eye is the one thing that can stop him from going berserker if somehow the Noah takes control? Use this one with caution. Extreme caution.

Element Weakness:

  • Dark Energy: Strong dark-based attacks can be pretty effective on his weapon, due to the fact that it's Innocence opposites. Innocence is strongest offensively against dark-based things, but also weakest defensively against it. But at the level Allen is at, it takes STRONG dark attacks to do anything.
  • Holy/Light Energy: Haha, that's right - this is why it sucks to be a hybrid. While they don't do much to Allen's weapon unless it's very strong, holy/light-based attacks will be very effective on Allen himself. Weaker holy/light attacks will simply hurt like a bitch and cause the injured area to turn grayish or have gray veins appear temporarily. Strong holy/light attacks (like say...impaling him on a holy sword!) will cause his entire body to turn gray, his eyes to turn yellow and the Noah to get extremely pissed off or crazy and you better hope Allen is still conscious to hold it back. Because of this - PLEASE BE AVOIDING ANY HEALING MAGIC ON ALLEN THAT IS HOLY/LIGHT-BASED. REALLY WE DON'T WANT THE CLINIC TO EXPLODE.

Nearsightedness:

  • Character Info book revealed that Allen is slightly nearsighted, which hurts his aim and coordination at times. He is nearsighted enough where he would benefit from reading glasses, but doesn't own any because lol what are eye doctors.
